Q. What sets the Nosquito Mist Away System apart from the other misting systems?
A. The patent pending Mist Away System is the "Original." It has a fully automated digital panel. It is the only system of its kind to incorporate a level sensing float switch, agitator, pressure switch and 3-button remote control.
Q. Other companies claim you don't need a float switch. Why does this mosquito misting system need one?
A. Even if the pump claims to have a run/dry capability, for safety reasons you would never want your pump to run in the dry position. This will not only damage pump seals over a period of time, but it will also void the manufacturer's pump warranty.
Q. Why do I want an agitator?
A. The agitator makes available for the first time ever, the ability to use non-emulsified pyrethrum products. And because all pyrethrum products can separate over time, the agitator ensures a consistent blend for each mist.
Q. What is the benefit of having a pressure switch?
A. The patent pending pressure switch is a state of the art safety feature. It monitors the pressure of the system. If the pressure drops below a predetermined setting, due to a break in the line, the system automatically turns off, thus avoiding insecticide waste.
Q. What are the functions of the remote control?
A. The 3-button remote control enables you to turn the system on or off as well as mist in between mist cycles.
Q. How safe is the pyrethrum?
A. Our recommended pyrethrum insecticides are derived from natural chrysanthemum flowers and are considered to be very low in toxicity. However, they are insecticides and should be used according to manufacturer's label.
Q. Is pyrethrum harmful to pets or children?
A. Pyrethrum insecticides have been used in agricultural and equine applications for a quarter century with no known harmful effects.
Q. Will the pyrethrum hurt my plants?
A. Our recommended pyrethrum insecticides, Hydro Py-300 and Riptide, do not contain petroleum distillates, which cause photo toxicity. This is not true of other pyrethrin products.
Q. Will the pyrethrum stain or leave a sticky film?
A. No, Hydro Py-300 and Riptide are completely biodegradable and never leave a sticky film or residue.
Q. How long will it take for the system to work and be effective?
A. The knockdown effect of unwanted insects begins instantly with the first mist.
Q. What can I expect as far as the insects disappearing?
A. Upon the first mist you will notice remarkably less annoying insects within your covered area. After a week or two the results will be even more dramatic. Remember, however, nothing is 100% effective.
Q. Will the nozzles drip or rust?
A. The patent pending EFA nozzles are the only nozzles that have an instant on/off capability. The nozzle tips will not rust because they are made from a nickel silver alloy.
Q. What is the cost to maintain the mosquito misting system?
A. The cost varies depending on the number of nozzles, the frequency of mist cycles, the duration of each mist and the type of insecticide.
Q. How many times will the system mist?
A. Two to three times a day for 30 – 40 seconds should be adequate for most yards.
Q. How often do I have to refill the system?
A. That varies depending on the number of nozzles, size of the tank, frequency of mist cycles, and duration of each mist. Refer to the consumption chart for your particular situation.
Q. Can I turn the system off if I don’t want it to mist?
A. Yes, you can turn the EFA system off with both the remote control and at the control panel.
Q. How automatic is the Nosquito Mist Away System?
A. It is fully automatic. You simply set the frequency and duration of the cycles and the system does the rest.
Q. What maintenance is required?
A. The Nosquito Mist Away is virtually maintenance free. The only maintenance required is winterizing your system in cold climates and rinsing the suction filter twice a year. Nozzle filters should be checked and cleaned annually.
Q. Is the system expandable?
A. Yes, it can be expanded at any time up to 100+ nozzles.
Q. What type of warranty does the system have?
A. There is a 3-year limited warranty on the pump, motor and control panel. There is a 2-year limited warranty on the agitator, float switch and pressure switch. The nozzle tips have a 1-year limited warranty. All warranties are non-transferable. The suction filter and nozzle filters are not covered under warranty.
Q. Can I take my system with me if I move?
A. Yes, the Nosquito Mist Away can be relocated.
Q. What kind of protection does the Nosquito Mist Away offer?
A. The Nosquito Mist Away System comes with product liability insurance. Be sure to check to see if other misting systems offer this type of insurance.
